My Monster by Emily

My monster is spiky. My monster's name is Spiky. His head is green and round. It's arms are yellow and short. It's hair is black and spiky. It's teeth are yellow and sharp. Spiky's legs are green and short. Spiky's hair is black and  incredibly super spiky.  His eye is red shaped like a diamond.  He has a round pig nose.  His hand's are green and sharp.  Spiky has black pointy feet.  Spiky's tail looks like a spiral.  Spiky's got a tiny spike on the end of his tail.  Spiky can talk but when he's angry he roars and if you kept doing the same thing he will eat you.  My Monster has wings with spikes on top.  My Monster has pets!!!  A cat and a dog.  The  cats name is Minnie and the dogs name is Lottie.  Spiky eat's 100000 pizza's a day.  He live's in his secret base.  He always lets me in.  My Monster has super fox on his back  (super fox is another monster)So when one monster moves the other does too.One day super fox was dancing and it made Spiky dance too.Spiky growled Super fox said "sorry". super  fox can turn into anything.  Spiky can get really angry but he won't hurt you.He is about the size of me.Spiky is a boy and super fox is a girl.Spiky has got scales on his tummy.Super fox has got sharp whiskers.

When I went to the hospital I got my tonsils and my adenoids out. When it was finished they gave me a cup to throw up in but instead of throwing up normal it was BLOOD!

I got them out because I stopped breathing at night and I kept on choking on my food. I had stinky gas so I didn't feel it because I was asleep.

My cat Jockey is my best friend. Every day Jockey sleeps with me. When I am sad she comes to me and she purrs and she licks my face. Sometimes we fight but we are still friends. After school when I came home and I go inside I sit on the couch and she runs over to me and she pounces on me.

Hospital time by Crystal

Today I am going to the hospital, do you know why? I don't know why. Because of the heart or maybe when people shout at my ear. I have headache. 

On this Tuesday in the morning I went to the hospital to check my heartbeat because when I was two years old I always choked!!! The hospital is in Wellington. 

In Wellington Hospital it has some tigers that are called Hospie, the helpless lion in the world. In the living room there's a TV on the wall that has all kind of movies and toy big trucks.

GRAYS HOLIDAY

I went to Singapore and we went for a walk and we saw a snail 1 foot big!

Then we went to Italy and on the  airplane there was a bed. I felt happy. At Italy I had lots of pizza and for dessert I had a double  ice cream.Then I went to the cruise ship there was a kids club and a movie theatre and a pool. You could watch 
movies and play mini-golf.      

Then I went to another country that I forgot to the name of and I was there for two hours at the airport.

My favourite food is pancakes, oh yep! I love pancakes and bacon oh yeah! Because it's yum!

I also love curry because it is yum! Pancakes look scrumptious too.

My second favourite food is fruit like pineapple and pear and apple and strawberries.

My third favourite food noodles cooked in a wok with vegetables because my mum is teaching me how to cook at the moment.

My broken arm by Leo

At nine thirty this morning Mum picked me up and together we went to Kenepuru Hospital. 

At Kenepuru Hospital they called us straight away so we came. The doctor put  a cast on my arm. Then we left Kenepuru Hospital and went back to school. 

I got my Broken arm when Archie my oldest cousin jumped on my arm at my birthday party. This is how I got my broken arm. Me and Dad and Bobbie were on the spinny thing at Mission Inflatable in Wellington. Archie jumped on me on my arm and then it broke. I cried and cried and cried. Luckily there was a nurse at my party. The nurse was Bobbie. She put some ice on it. My party was on Friday and I went to Kenepuru Hospital on Monday. It took a week to heal. 

Custard And Me On Holiday

In the holidays my cat and me went on holiday. The cat had a round suitcase and I had a rectangular suitcase. 

We got to the airport. My cat Custard said "I am very excited. I said, "I am excited too." Then I said "Let's go or we will be late to the plane." When we were halfway there my cat Custard said "Are we there yet?" "No we are only halfway there". When we were there, I said "We are there". 

When we were going I got a pet puppy and I named him Chocolate. Me and Custard and Chocolate had a princess room. I had a princess bed. So I read a book called Fun The Book and it said this: "Once upon a time there was a princess and she loved to have fun..."

I was on Matific and then the fire alarm went on and I heard a voice say "Evacuate the building by the nearest exit!" and the class lined up. Our class went to the netball court. I thought it was a  real one. I was excited but it was fake. We went back to class. Charlie

Ruma Hihi Finds Out More!

Ruby's mum reminded us it was Cook Islands Language Week this week. Ruby's 'Mama' is from The Cook Islands, Mrs Pupuke thought this was super special as her husband and her son are part Cook Islander too! Ruby taught us how to say 'Kia Orana' (hello) and 'Meitaki' (thank you). The other Ruma Hihi students were interested in finding out more about the Cook Islands so Ruby and Mrs Pupuke talked about what it is like there and we watched some videos too. We especially liked the video showing Cook Island dancing! Gemma shared that her whanau is from South Africa and asked if we could find South Africa on a map, we then watched a video about South Africa and talked about some things that are the same, and some things that are different in New Zealand. We really enjoyed finding out more about each other and hope to do some more of this soon!

FENCE PAINTING IN RUMA KOTARE!

Ruma Kotare have been busy over the last few weeks making one of the gardens near the playground into a more bright and wonderful garden. We started work on our garden after we discovered that it wasn't a very nice home for one of our class visitors, Sticky the stick insect (see our before photo below!).

We have weeded the garden, pruned it with the help of Luka's Dad and cleared all the rubbish out. Our latest work has been painting the fence.

PAINTING THE FENCE
First we each made our own fence painting plan, then we sat down together, shared our ideas and collaborated to come up with something everyone agreed on. We had to vote for each picture idea that went on the fence.

On Monday, we finally got a sunny day so we started on our painting - have a look at our amazing work so far!! A big thank you to Alannah's Mum who came along and helped us out. 
Our next job is putting down new soil and planting beautiful plants!

In The Weekend by Oliver

In the weekend Frank came to my house and then we went to Laser Force. Frank and I had laser guns. We had lots of fun time.

The Zoo By Emily

I went to the Zoo by the Tryathlon.  First I saw an Otter. Then I saw a kiwi and a tuatara. Then I saw some baby monkeys and then in another cage I saw the leader monkey. He was a bit bigger one with a big white and furry part above his face. Then I saw twelve penguins. They were gathered by the pool trying to get food from someone's hands. 

I saw lions and tigers and then giraffes and gorillas and chimpanzees. Then dingos and porcupines. Then I saw meerkats! Then cheetahs. Then I saw pigs, sheep and chickens. One ate my cracker! It was a chicken flavoured cracker. Then we went to the ice cream shop. I got mint and my mum did too and my brother got a chocolate ice cream.

I  had a tadpole once and in 10 days it  turned  into  a  frog. It was first in an egg and then it had front legs and in five weeks it had back legs and in 12 weeks it had a front and it was a frog. It laid eggs.

Dad and me go to Mini Golf. Sometimes my sister plays but  she doesn't actually play. There are 18 stages. My favourite stage is Level 15 because it has 3 paths to get to the hole.

Rapunzel lived in a tower.  Mother Gofrill shouted, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your  hair". Rapunzel let down her hair.  

Mother Gofrill said, "You can come down into the world for a week with me in my house and visit your real Mum and Dad. But you have to stay living with me. You can keep some flowers that are purple. If you are naughty you have to go back to the tower".

Farmer's Market By Leo

One day I saw a parked truck with lots and lots of vegetables. I hopped in the cab and off I went. I saw a sign that said Farmers Market so I went that way. 

When I got to the market all of the vegetables went on to a cow. I hit the truck's brakes. The truck went round in a circle and knocked down the market. The farmer was very cross. I had to repair the market.

Edward is the king of the soft toys. He is friendly. The children in Ruma Korimako take Edward home every day except on Saturday and Sunday.

He makes a squeak in his hand when we squish it. He hears us say "Edward". 

Edward is soft like a cloud and he has a bow. Edward has a shiny bow. He has a bow tie that is light brown and his bow is a ribbon. Edward's bow tie is a reddy browny cool bow.

Edward has bluey black eyes. His eyes are like a shiny light browny black. Edward's eyes are shiny like a diamond. In the light his eyes look bluey blacky.

Edward is a brown bear. Edward has soft fur. His fur is a browny yellow and soft. Edward is a furry brown yellow fellow. His fur is light in the light and dark in the dark. His fur is like soft silk fuzzy fur. Edward's fur is as soft as a bunny. Edward feels soft and when you hug him at night he feels warm.

Edward was fishing. He was trying to catch a snapper. Edward was having no trouble with a snapper while I was having too much trouble with a great white shark.

Edward loves our class. I love Edward and he loves me back. I was lucky to get Edward. I like to have a hug with Edward. I love Edward.

In Ruma Kotare and Ruma Miromiro, we joined forces and spent our first Friday at school learning about co-operation and working together! We were wonderful problem solvers and explorers.
